All of the materials below can be downloaded and reprinted for use in your classroom, home, after-school program, or anywhere you need fun activities and fresh information.

Lesson Plans: Let the kids become the detectives in this interactive investigation! “Creepy Crawling Neighbors,” developed by former teacher Shannon C’de Baca, meets National Science Standard C, and encourages students to look for clues on how to identify and classify the pests that invading their communities.
Flash Cards:Make sure you and your students know their bugs! These flashcards provide realistic images of the many “bad” pasts of which we should be aware. Termites, bedbugs, cockroaches and more can damage property and cause illness. Learn more by downloading these fun, informative cards.
Bug Anatomy Cards: Help your students learn how to differentiate bugs from other organisms in the yard. The shape of the body, number of legs, antennae and more can be deciding factors in what type of bug they’ve discovered. Download these anatomy cards to easily learn the differences!
Bug Anatomy Poster: Download this anatomy poster so your students can review and understand the parts of an insect by identifying the head, thorax and abdomen.
Pest Patrol Poster: Help your students be on pest patrol and remember which pests aren’t welcome by downloading and displaying this real-to-life Most Unwanted Poster.
Stickers: Reward students for good detective work with these Debug the Myths Bug Detective stickers.
Children’s Book: What’s Bugging You? Is a new book written by well-known author Raymond Bial. Bial, who’s books typically share fact-filled stories through words and images, created the book to help children understand the difference between good and bad bugs. The book is designed to help kids become detectives of their surroundings, carefully studying the creepy crawling creatures that live in and around their homes.
Coloring pages: Create colorful understanding among your children about pests. These original coloring pages will share information about bugs, weeds, and spiders, helping young people recognize the bad guys from the good.
Word find: Get practicing inspecting for signs of pests by looking for pesky words in this word find and taking the opportunity to teach kids new words about bugs, weeds, and more.
Maze:Weave through the maze to help the mouse find a home (outside of yours) and help the fly swatter find the fly
Invasive Weeds Poster:While some plants may be beautiful, they could be taking much-needed nutrients from native plants. Invasives are known for taking over the natural landscape and causing problems not only on land, but in the water. Hang up this poster to identify common invasive species in the United States and see if your students can identify and classify different types of weeds.
Regional Fact Sheets:Check out these fact sheets to learn more about some of the pests you can expect to see in your particular area this fall and winter season and ways you can prepare to protect yourselves from these pesky invaders.
