EventsWestchester CountyRISE is taking the market by swarm, helping White Plains residents understand more about proper pest control and lawn care management. You can "debug the myths" about pesticide and fertilizer product use at our giant, bug-wrapped RV. There will be interactive opportunities for both kids and adults to engage in, including starring in your very own "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" moment by taking a picture in front of a green screen and choosing a fun background for your image. Or finding out what invasive pest matches your personality by taking our "What Pest Are You?" quiz. After joining the fun, revisit the web site to watch video and view images. And, follow all of our adventures by tracking the RV and reading our blog.
Family Fun at Delfino Park: RISE is teaming up with the White Plains Parks and Recreation Department to sponsor a day of hockey, park beautification, and philanthropic support of the Ronald McDonald House in White Plains. Debug the Myths will be helping families understand the important role pesticide and fertilizer products play in protecting their homes and communities. Look for the RV in front of the ice rink, participate in the community’s silent auction, and attend the 16th Annual Charity Hockey Game. The fun starts at 10 a.m. and ends with a check presentation to the mayor at 4 p.m.
Team Up to Clean Up: Working with local residents and students, Debug the Myths will be preparing Delfino Park for spring with a clean-up of the area and fresh landscaping around the Delfino plaque. Stop by to plant a plant, ask questions about caring for your lawn and garden, and to see the end result. Planting and clean-up will begin around 11 a.m. |
